Wendy Hemingway

Wendy Hemingway is an entrepreneur and business consultant with over 20 years of experience. 

Wendy graduated from Oakland University with a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources. Her specialization was in training and development with a minor in management and labor studies. She furthered her education by receiving a Master of Business Administration in Accounting from Wayne State University. Wendy received her Doctorate in Business Administration from Baker College. 

Wendy started her career working in retail banking until she was promoted to Senior Vice President Director of Commercial Services by Citizens Banking Corporation. To advance company success, Wendy drove commercial services such as product lines, deposits, non-profit lending, and the largest commercial loan portfolio system for a full-service organization ranked as the 45th largest banking corporation in the U.S. in 2006 with approximately $23B in assets. 

Wendy started her first company, Shadowood Properties in 2000. By coordinating a broad range of business functions, including human resources, property administration, tenant relations, and full profit and loss, Wendy directed the full scope of operations for a property management company. To ensure smooth operational management for the single-family homes and multi-unit residential apartments governed by the company, Wendy arranged all activities with staff and contractors.

In 2003, Wendy became the President of Baker College of Flint, Michigan. Wendy was in charge of the largest campus within Baker College and designed and executed efficiencies, market messaging, and all system operations. She led administrative and financial management oversight of a campus system encompassing 36 programs and a $25M annual budget, she led a diverse team of 275+ faculty/staff. 

In February 2020, Wendy relocated to Florida to join the League of Southeastern Credit Unions as the Chief Financial Officer. She enjoys new challenges and helping entrepreneurs grow their businesses through strategic planning and execution. She currently resides in Tallahassee, Florida.
